UT Health Science Center College of Pharmacy alumna Hope H. Brandon (c/o ’22) (University of Kentucky HealthCare PGY2 Pediatric Pharmacy Resident), and co-author Frank Romanelli, PharmD, MPH (University of Kentucky College of Pharmacy), recently published an article in the American Journal of Pharmaceutical Education exploring the decreasing first-time pass rates on the NAPLEX exam. The article examines the impact of various factors such as institutional and student factors, changes to the NAPLEX blueprint, increasing numbers of pharmacy schools, decreasing numbers of applicants, and the COVID-19 pandemic.
