Dear students, staff, faculty, and friends,

I am delighted to announce that the College of Pharmacy has moved up to the 19th rank in the country and has retained its number one spot in Tennessee, according to the latest U.S. News & World Report rankings of 141 pharmacy colleges. I am grateful for the continued efforts of our faculty, staff, and students, who have contributed to making our institution a premier center for excellence in pharmacy education.

March brought new beginnings along with the arrival of spring. On March 18, we celebrated a significant milestone in the journey of our P1 PharmD students, who were given their white coats at our 2024 White Coat ceremony. We extend our heartfelt congratulations to these future pharmacists as they complete their first year of pharmacy education.

The outstanding performance of our P4 students in the 2024 ASHP residency match is commendable. This year, 76 students from our college successfully matched for a PGY1 residency. Our college excelled and earned the No. 3 spot nationally and the No. 1 position in Tennessee for the total number of students who matched. An additional 33 past-graduates committed early or matched for a PGY2 residency. We are immensely proud of their accomplishment and wish them all the best as they embark on their pharmacy residencies.

I am incredibly proud of our faculty’s ongoing success. Our faculty members consistently receive prestigious appointments to professional pharmacy organizations and journals. Moreover, our research initiatives continuously push the boundaries of what we can achieve to enhance healthcare for Tennesseans and beyond. I am excited to share these accomplishments with you in this edition of RxRecap.

Thank you,

Reginald Frye, PharmD, PhD, FCCP
Dean and Professor
