UTCOP student pharmacists had the opportunity to take part in an international experience this year, traveling to countries across the globe. Student pharmacists learned about pharmacy practice, culture and the people of Liverpool, Manchester and London, England; Chiang Mai, Khon Kaen and Mahasarkham, Thailand; along with France, Hungary, Japan, New Zealand, Spain, Sweden, and Turkey. The international experience program has been in place for over 20 years.
“My international rotation in New Zealand was so eye-opening. It was great getting to learn about a different type of health care system, and it made me appreciate what we have in America. It also made me grateful for the high level at which pharmacists can practice in the US. New Zealand was beautiful, and my time there was one of the greatest experiences I had during pharmacy school!” – Hannah Donnelly
“My experience on my international rotation to Japan was truly once in a lifetime. Everyone from the preceptors who organized the trip, to the students who facilitated our travel made sure that our stay in Japan was warm and rich in culture. It was a privilege to be welcomed into their healthcare setting to see how pharmacy is practiced within their patient population. The experience had a profound effect on me culturally, socially, and professionally.” – Brandon Ladd
